Since pre-Columbian times the fruit has been an important and traditional element in the Mexican daily diet, being our country, the main avocado producer in the world.
Avocado’s pulp, depending on the variety and the ripeness of the fruit, can reach up to a 25% fat content, in average 15 – 19% that allows to extract around 10% from the fresh fruit. This oil has a high level of unsaturated fatty acids.
Current trends towards people’s health and well-being have made the food industry look for new alternatives.
The qualities of this oil make it a great option for culinary use: high smoke point (260ºC) higher fatty acids level than any other cooking oils, great protein and vitamin content, low sodium, neutral flavor and attractive color.
AHUACATLAN 100% pure oil derives it’s name from the region of world’s finest avocado’s in Michoacan, Mexico. Each avocado is selectively hand picked and then takes a short journey to the factory. Here they are first washed and then the skins are peeled. The fruit and seed then recieve a natural cold maceration treatment.
